Flowers make perfect additions to most home d?cor because they can be tucked into most any item. Carnations and mums are especially good to use for Halloween decorating because they are hearty and long lasting. Other flowers that work especially well during the Halloween season are: orange gerbera daisies, bold tangerine-hued roses, alstroemeria (or Peruvian Lilies as they are often called), orange germinis, and orange Asiatic lilies.

The following tips are bound to put a smile not only on your face, but also on the faces of all your guests—no matter what their ages. Show your Halloween spirit with a festive and unique pumpkin floral arrangement this October. Below are some step-by-step instructions on how to create three of our favorite decorations using Halloween flowers.

THE CLASSIC PUMPKIN VASE
Cut and carve out a medium sized pumpkin and line it with plastic to place a half a block of saturated floral foam.
Trim off the excess plastic and smooth the top of the floral foam with a knife. The foam should be about an inch taller than the top of the pumpkin's edge.
Insert your greens and fall leaves first. Cut them into smaller pieces and insert into the floral foam.
Start inserting the thickest stemmed flowers first (orange Gerbera daisies work well here.) Finish with your more delicate stems. Make sure you insert flowers off to the sides too and cover as much of the foam with foliage and flowers as possible.
Add some water each day to the arrangement to keep it lasting its longest.

THE CANDY CORN VASE
Take two vases -- squares or cylinders -- and nest them inside one another leaving a bit of a gap between the walls.
Fill the gap with Halloween-colored candy corn
Fill the inner vase with water and cut fresh flowers in bright colors to display in the vase.

THE JACK-O-FLOWER-LANTERN
Insert a small vase inside a medium pumpkin
Instead of carving out the eyes, simply punch out two holes with an apple corer
Insert two sunflowers or gerbera daisies, and make sure to remove several petals from both sides so that they resemble eyelashes
